Disney Droid Factory Expansion
Last year’s launch of the Droid Factory feature at Hollywood Studios in Orlando, FL was one of our top stories for the year and delivered some of the most interesting collectibles of 2012. One downside to the attraction was that it required a ticket into the park as it was located in the Tatooine Traders store.
No more. The Droid Factory is now part of Once Upon a Toy which is located in Downtown Disney and doesn’t require a ticket to be accessed. From the photo, which was posted by Attractions Magazine, it appears that the station is now four-sided which allows more room for fans to build their Astromech droids.
According to their twitter feed, Attractions Magazine is saying that there are no new parts available yet but it’s been heavily rumored that Disney may be adding or swapping out new colors as we move forward.
It also seemed to be just a formality that Droid Factory hadn’t yet been added to Disneyland but YakFace.com, today, is reporting via EndorExpress.net that this expansion is finally done.
While we’re hoping for new droid parts in the future, and welcome the free access, we do hope that parts will be the same between the two parks and that there won’t be exclusives only available on one coast or the other.
