Live-action Star Wars TV Show Back On?

Star Wars Logo Small Black Star BackgroundEW.com is reporting that ABC is looking into the possibility of a live-action Star Wars television program.  Although we’ve heard in the past, from Rick McCallum, that 50 scripts had been written, the show as envisioned was too expensive to produce.

Now that Disney has acquired Lucasfilm, and they own several television channels, it’s possible that costs could be better managed.  With ABC going forward on the new Marvel show, “S.H.I.E.L.D.,” it seems as though Disney is looking to leverage their most popular brands while there’s good buzz surrounding them.

The EW article mentions “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” possibly moving to Disney XD once its current deal with Cartoon Network expires, but doesn’t mention the “Detours” project that was being worked on by Lucasfilm and “Robot Chicken” creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich.

Interestingly, the EW article expands on some of the possible storyline, which seems to share themes with the upcoming “1313” video game.
