Gentle Giant August Pre-Orders

Gentle Giant is offering three new pre-orders for August, including two statues and a Jumbo Retro figure.

The statues include the new Boba Fett maquette based on his classic animated appearance on the Star Wars Holiday Special.  The 8″ tall maquette is $139.00 directly from Gentle Giant.

Next up is the new Yoda statue that was debuted at San Diego Comic-Con.  Inspired by a piece of Adam Hughes artwork, the 1:6 scale statue is a companion piece to the Padme statue that went up for pre-order last month.  The Yoda statue is priced at $115.00.  We’d like to note that Gentle Giant refers to the statue as “Yoda Hoth” but Hughes’ artwork was originally based on Genndy Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars microseries and Yoda and Padme were on Ilum, not Hoth, when they appeared in these outfits.

The final Star Wars piece for pre-order is the new Jumbo Snowtrooper.  This continues Gentle Giant’s push into the Empire Strikes Back series of figures.  Priced at $85, the Snowtrooper comes with his classic vinyl cape and blaster rifle.

None of the items offered are exclusives so make sure to shop around at your favorite online retailers to see if you can find a break on the price.  All of the pre-orders are scheduled for the second quarter of 2014.
