It was a successful day at Disney and the Celebration VI festivities are starting to roll.

We arrived around 2:30 this afternoon and after checking into the hotel, headed to Disney Hollywood Studios for 6 hours of magic.  Although it was raining, we were able to see the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show before heading over to the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular.

Following dinner at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, we made it just in time to see the final show of The American Idol Experience.  Not being a big fan of American Idol, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I enjoyed the show.

After American Idol, it was finally time for our first ride on the new Star Tours ride.  Having read about all the new features, I was excited to see the ride and was really impressed with all of the upgrades.  We rode twice and both times went to Kashyyyk before landing on Coruscant the first time and Naboo the second.

Of course, after riding, we had to stop and build some droids at the Droid Factory station in Tatooine Traders.  I built two my first time through, using some of the new parts that debuted when the station reopened a few weeks ago.  On my second trip, which was near closing, I was able to build three using a mix of parts.  While speaking to the crew member working the Droid Factory, it sounded as if they were already running short on some parts again and I didn’t see a few of the new domes I was looking for.  We did find out that Droid Factory should be a permanent attraction so parts should be replenished.

After the first ride on Star Tours, we went and watched the 3D Muppet show and then headed for the Great Movie Ride.  We ended up not riding that, however, after the line started to back up.  It was already 9:00 and with only an hour left, we wanted to get that second Star Tours ride in as well as do some shopping.

We walked out of the park right at 10:00 so we took advantage of the whole after 4:00 tickets.  It was a quick yet fun trip to Disney and I’m glad we fit it in ahead of Celebration.  It seems like a missed opportunity that there was no Disney event in conjunction with Celebration, but it was easy enough to make it work.  Tomorrow, Universal Studios.
