Wave 16 Is Disappearing But You Shouldn’t Panic. Yet.

Jedi Temple Archives posted a blog earlier today titled “Wave 16 Is Disappearing – Amazon Is Gouging – Seek Sponsors You Will!” Unfortunately, that’s a little misleading.

First, Amazon themselves are charging $12.99 per figure from wave 16, even for the popular Emperor’s Royal Guard and Republic Trooper.  They’ve since sold out, as have Obi-Wan and Lumat, but Ahsoka, Weequay, Orrimaarko and Nien Nunb are still available for $12.99 as of this writing (and JTA’s blog post).

Third party Amazon Webstores, who have their shipping fulfilled by Amazon, are charging higher prices for the wave but they aren’t Amazon proper.  Jedi Temple Archives linked to DorkSideToys.com, a sponsor, as a way to find Wave 16 individually, and that’s fine, but they’re getting $14.99 and up, $19.99 for the Republic Trooper (loose and carded) yet Amazon is being called out for “gouging?”

We want to point out that Nerd Rage Toys currently has Obi-Wan, Orrimaarko and Weequay, along with the re-packed figures, for only $11.00 each.  Between Amazon and Nerd Rage, you could buy the whole wave minus 3 figures for less than what Dork Side is charging.  And Big Bad Toy Store has the full case in stock for $129.99, which is about $10.84 per figure before shipping.  Not everyone wants to invest in a case, but on a per figure basis, that’s your best price right now.

Jedi Temple Archives has one thing right; the wave is selling through quickly.  If you don’t pick up the figures, either individually or by the case, soon you’re going to be left out and the secondary market (eg eBay) will be your only outlet.
