NYCC Chat with WadjetEye Games CCO Dave Gilbert

On Saturday I had the pleasure of meeting with Wadjet Eye President and CCO Dave Gilbert.  Dave has been working in game design since 2001 and is the founder of this award winning indie game company. Dave’s interest in adventure games led him to the creation of his first game The Repossessor in 2001. Dave got his big break in 2006 where his game The Shivah, a point and click adventure game starring a Rabbi, jumpstarted Wadjet Eye. The Shivah has since received an amazing facelift as you can see for the following screen shots of the game.

What makes Wadjet Eye games so unique is Dave’s ability to run the entire company from his home in NYC.  Working with his wife, Janet, Dave is able to maintain a living while raising a family doing what he loves. You can find him working hard on scripts for his games at local coffee shops.

His most famous series, The Blackwell Chronicles, is scheduled to conclude with a special edition due out in March 2014. This collector’s edition will include all 5 games and the soundtracks.
