Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir Series Coming from Dark Horse

Staying with the comics news, it was announced yesterday on Newsarama.com that Dark Horse will release a four issue miniseries which will wrap up Darth Maul’s story arc from Star Wars: The Clone Wars.  The series, “Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir,” will be based on screenplays that were originally scheduled to become season 6 episodes of the animated series.

Although there are up to 10 completed episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars due to be released sometime this year, the outcome to Darth Maul’s storyline is apparently not part of it.  Dark Horse has an excellent track record with television properties, adapting “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” into an ongoing series and releasing several “Firefly” one-shots and limited series, and from the Newsarama interview, it sounds as if Darth Maul will have the same excellent treatment.

“Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir” is scheduled to release in May so make sure to swing by your local comic shop and add the series to your pull list.
