San Diego Comic-Con – Hasbro
The biggest Hasbro news out of Comic-Con is that 2013 will see a return of the Droid Factory! While we won’t have full details until Hasbro’s presentation on Friday, a leaked photo of a slide from the presentation announced Droid Factory and gave us a peek at R2-D2, Scout Trooper and AOTC Arena Padme. They’re listed as wave 1 so it’s possible that this will be the wave in support of the (presumed) release of Attack of the Clones in 3D.
Two new exclusive 2-packs, in Vintage Collection packaging, will bring us Widdle Warrick and Wunka and two AT-ST Drivers. The AT-ST Drivers look to be of Robert Watts and Richard Marquand who had cameos in Return of the Jedi. They’ll go nicely with the new Speeder Bike and Vintage Collection AT-ST.
Not directly from SDCC, we’ve also now seen confirmation of a ROTJ boxed, Vintage Collection AT-AT which looks to include a Speeder Bike and repainted AT-AT Driver. We don’t have further info on that yet but it’s probable that if this will be our in the fall, we’ll see it in Friday’s presentation.
The final tease was was of a few new figures for both the Movie Heroes and Vintage Collection lines. Hasbro is showing off a Boba Fett, Battle Droid and Anakin with light-up lightsaber for the MH line while we saw a blurry photo of a shelf of figures that looked to include an updated green (Sergeant?) Clone Trooper, Anakin Skywalker, TIE Fighter Pilot, Pablo Jill and Count Dooku’s pilot droid, FA-4, from Attack of the Clones. No clear photo that we’ve seen yet but if one does pop up we’ll update with new information.during the day.
