Radio Shack is Giving Back the ’80s!

If you were raised in the ’80s, or are just a fan of pop culture from that decade, then Radio Shack’s Super Bowl commercial was arguably one of the best of the night.  The commercial, which can be seen on YouTube, throws in cameos by popular characters such as Hulk Hogan, Cliff Clavin, Sgt. Slaughter, Officer Frank Poncherello, ALF Dee Snider, Mary Lou Retton, Slimer, and even Bubo the owl from Clash of the Titans.

The gist of the commercial is that the store is purging the older, outdated perception that customers may have and let them know that Radio Shack carries modern technology such as cell phones and accessories, tablets, and many other popular items.

To celebrate, Radio Shack is running a Twitter contest where they have prizes from the 80’s including a BMX bike, Michael Jackson Jacket and a 1987 Porsche Coup.  But the two items that’ll probably be of most interest are a boxed Return of the Jedi Ewok Village and an original storyboard signed by Robert Watts.
