New Darth Maul 1:6 Figure Coming From Sideshow

The second preview that Sideshow posted this past weekend is for a new 1:6 scale Darth Maul figure. There’s no mention of this being a Hot Toys release which actually makes it an odd choice as Sideshow released a 1:6 Darth Maul back in 2006 as one of the first 10 figures they produced after obtaining the Star Wars license.

That first release, with a regular edition size of 9,000 pieces (and an Inclusive Edition exclusive), is still one of, if not the highest edition size Sideshow has ever released. Sideshow has come a long way in the past 10 years with sculpts, body styles and accessories, but their original Darth Maul still holds up quite well. It will be interesting to find out if this release offers anything new.  According to the Sideshow preview, Darth Maul will be at San Diego Comic-Con.
