Gentle Giant Announced Power of the Force Cards

Gentle Giant sent out an email last night to announce that they would be debuting Power of the Force cards for their Jumbo line of retro Kenner action figures.  The first release will be the Gamorrean Guard which had been a Premier Guild exclusive.

The Gamorrean Guard was one of the choices that members could pick when joining the Premier Guild and it was supposed to come with a Return of the Jedi card back insert.  Now, that order has been upgraded to come with a Power of the Force card back and a newly designed, 3-inch coin to mimic the vintage Kenner line of the same name.

The Return of the Jedi card back will still be available with the Gamorrean Guard as a general release.  Pre-orders for the general release will go live on September 18, 2012.

If you didn’t order the Gamorrean Guard as your Premier Guild exclusive, or add it to your order, you can still purchase it and have it upgraded to the Power of the Force card.  To find it, log into your PGM account and search on “Gamorrean Guard.”  The price is still $70 to order.

For some reason, the first thing we thought of with this announcement is that Yak Face is coming sooner rather than later.  Think it’ll be within the next week to 10 days?  We’ll see, but won’t be surprised if Gentle Giant announces a bunch of new Power of the Force figures over the next couple of months.
