Celebration VI Hasbro Booth
We showed you the Hasbro presentation the other day and now we have a few pictures from the booth. The two highlights may have been the Jocasta Nu figure and the upcoming Speeder Bike, both of which are exclusives, to Brian’s Toys and Toys-R-Us respectively.
Jocasta Nu comes in deluxe packaging and also includes a bust of Count Dooku which hides a surprise for you to discover. The early pre-orders for the figure will also include a proof card of her Vintage Collection card back.
The new Speeder Bike is all new, with new detail and control bars and pedals that are more screen accurate. You’ll also find a new laser canon that can be attached to the Bike or stands alone on a mount for your troops to use when fending off the pesky Ewoks. The Scout Trooper that’s included features articulation in the neck which will allow the head to be tilted back enough so that he’s looking forward when on the bike.
The new Class I vehicles, especially the MTT Droid Fighter, are fun additions to that line which, in our opinion, has been one of the brighter spots of the Star Wars line for the last couple of years. The interaction between the MTT Droid Fighter and the new MTT is another example of how Hasbro tries to expand their play system, but tying a $17 vehicle to a $150 vehicle/playset, while increasing play, seems to be a pretty huge investment. Still, both look to be excellent toys.
The rest of the booth mostly contained items we’ve already seen but we did get a look at the first wave of 2013 action figures. They did show off the new, smaller, Class II vehicles and the Class I ships and figure sets that were in the presentation. Not sure yet what to think about the smaller Class II vehicles but understand that Hasbro would like to get toys out at a better price point. We didn’t stop back to ask if we’d see the current sculpts of Class II vehicles again but would assume that we may, but probably as an exclusive or other type of premium release. If there are any ships out there on the shelf that you’ve been putting off, you may want to pick them up.
