Cartoon Network Announces New Lego Special & Are They Dropping The Clone Wars?
Cartoon Network issued a press release about their 2013 Fall TV season and absent from the lineup is Star Wars: The Clone Wars, but it does include a new series of specials from Lego, titled “The Yoda Chronicles.”
Since the announcement that Disney was buying Lucasfilm, there has been speculation that if The Clone Wars continued into a sixth season, it’s possible it could move to a Disney channel such as Disney XD. While the lack of a Clone Wars listing in Cartoon Network’s press release isn’t confirmation of that, it may at least be an indication something will change with the series after season 5 has finished.
Fans of the previous Lego Star Wars specials will be happy to see the trend continue with three new specials.
The Yoda Chronicles: LEGO Star Wars returns in epic style with THE YODA CHRONICLES, a thrilling, funny and action-packed new LEGO Star Wars story told in three animated TV specials! Set in the “Prequel” Star Wars timeline, THE YODA CHRONICLES stars the one and only Yoda—the Jedi Master who has seen it all, done it all, and taught generations of Jedi Knights—in an all-new adventure. With the help of a fresh class of Padawans, Yoda leads the Jedi in a desperate fight to stop Darth Sidious and his minions from creating a new super-weapon that could crush the Republic and win the war for the forces of Evil.
It’s not just Star Wars fans that may be a little sad, “Young Justice” and “Green Lantern: The Animated Series” are missing from the list and appear to be replaced by “Teen Titans Go!” and “Beware the Batman.”
