Build Your Own Millennium Falcon Prop Replica
DeAgostini is known for their Star Wars partworks magazines and now they’ve taken things to a whole new level. Over the course of 100 issues, the “Star Wars Build the Millennium Falcon” magazine will allow you to build a 1:1 scale replica of the prop used in filming The Empire Strikes Back.
Each issue of the magazine will include an assortment of metal and resin parts and instructions for assembly. The finished model will have movable parts and lights and will be an impressive 32-inches long by 23-inches wide and 7.5-inches high. The model will also feature removable panels that will allow you to see the amazing detail inside.
As with most of the partworks magazines, there are some free items that subscribers will receive including the second issue of the magazine, a t-shirt, binder to store the magazines, a Han Solo figure and display stand for the finished ship.
While the first issue is only £2.99, subsequent issues will be £8.99. The magazine is only available in the UK at this time and nothing is listed on the website about distribution to other countries. The magazines are scheduled for weekly release so it’s going to take two years and approximately £900 to complete.
It will be interesting to see in-progress and completed photos of the ship over time.
