A Look Back: Star Wars Celebration IV Diorama Workshop: Endor
From May 24-28, 2007, Star Wars Celebration IV was held in Los Angeles, CA. Not only was it the longest Celebration, spanning five days over the Memorial Day weekend, but it was also the largest at the time with over 35,000 people attending. Celebration IV also offered a new scale for Frank D’Iorio’s Diorama Workshop.
Again housed with the fan club tables, Diorama Workshop took on the battle for Endor with huge trees, multiple battles, and even speederbikes mounted on train tracks. There was a lot of humor and funny scenes throughout the display. For Endor, Frank and his crew even added sound effects to help make it sound like you were outdoors. I helped man the Pennsylvania Star Wars Collecting Society booth at Celebration IV and we were directly across from the build. We got to watch it “grow” over the course of the weekend and after the Celebration II Tatooine build, may be my favorite. There are over 40 photos posted below along with a newly published video of the fan-built diorama.
