Gentle Giant San Diego Comic-Con Exclusives

If you’ve been paying any attention to Gentle Giant since last year’s Comic-Con, it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that they are releasing another mini bust based on Ralph McQuarrie’s concept artwork at this year’s show. Following the 2011 Snowtrooper is one of the most recognizable of McQuarrie’s early works, the Stormtrooper.

The bust has two different heads and can be displayed with and without the shield on the left arm. It also appears to have two right arms, with slightly different poses, but both with the lightsaber. It would have been nice to have a blaster available but the Stormtrooper with the lightsaber is classic.

The bust is limited to 1,800 pieces and retails from Gentle Giant for $85. It’s available now for pre-order to Premier Guild members (must be logged in) and the link is on the blog page linked above.

Also available at SDCC will be a Mars Attacks mini bust and a Pan’s Labyrinth Pale Man Statue. The Mars Attacks bust is limited to 550 pieces and retails for $75 while the Pale Man statue is limited to only 300 pieces but comes in at the more substantial price of $225.

As with the Stormtrooper, the Mars Attacks and Pan’s Labyrinth pieces are now available for pre-order. And don’t forget Admiral Motti, who was announced Monday.
