Celebration VI: Day 1
Day one is a wrap and while it was long, it was a fun day.
Panels
Attended the Star Wars 1313 panel and saw some awesome live game play. The cut scenes are nearly seamlessly integrated with the game play, which will suck in the most hard core gamers.
At the Disney collectibles panel we got a look at new Vinylmation figures, a really awesome latex Salacious B. Crumb figure, a Thermal Detonator “Hot Potato” game and the first look at the new Cars and Star Wars crossover that will start next year.
The last panel for the day was for Steve Sansweet’s new collectible book, “Star Wars: The Ultimate Action Figure Collection.” Clocking in at 350 pages, the book features over 2300 action figures, showing the progression of characters from the vintage Kenner days through this year. The book will be out November 1st.
501st and Droid Builders
Stopped in the Droid Builders and 501st Legion rooms and shot some photos and video. Their displays always impress and this year is no different. I especially like the Droids, and it’s amazing what the builders have managed to include in them; lights, sounds, remote control panels and even hydraulics that will let them dance.
Wrap Up
Lots of photos and notes that have to be typed up and I should be able to get to them on Friday. Until then, be sure to follow the Twitter feed for updates and photos during the day.
