12th Annual PSWCS Toy Drive is this Weekend!
Just a reminder that the 12th annual PSWCS toy drive, for Garrison Carida, is THIS Saturday at two locations in Pennsylvania. The full press release with times and addresses is below. If you’re near either venue this weekend, please consider stopping and donating to a very worthy charitable organization.
The Pennsylvania Star Wars Collecting Society (PSWCS) will be holding their annual toy drive on December 13, 2014. This will be its 12th year and the event is expanding to two locations.
The Toy Cave, located at 147 N Hanover St, Carlisle, PA 17013, has been partnering with PSWCS since 2004 and we’re happy to continue that partnership. The store will be open beginning at 11:00 am and any donations of new, unopened Star Wars toys will be accepted.
We’re also excited to announce that Toy & Comic Heaven, located at 1841 Norristown Rd, Maple Glen, PA 19002, will be joining us this year. The first PSWCS toy drive was held at the original Toy Heaven store in Philadelphia in 2003 and it’s exciting to have them back. Toy & Comic Heaven will also open at 11:00 am.
Both stores will have refreshments available for the public and members of Garrison Carida of the 501st Legion costuming club will be available for photos.
All toys should be new, packaged, and unwrapped. Garrison Carida cannot accept role play toys (blasters, lightsabers, etc.). Cash donations will not be accepted, however toys will be available for purchase.
If you can’t attend and would like to mail a donation, please contact cable@pswcs.com.
Garrison Carida serves Pennsylvania, Delaware and West Virginia by participating in charity and non-profit events with a focus on children, including visits to hospitals. During these events the donated toys will be handed out, free of charge, to children in attendance. For more information and a list of upcoming events, please see Garrison Carida’s website at http://501stgarrisoncarida.org/.
The Pennsylvania Star Wars Collecting Society was founded in 2000 as a way for collectors throughout the state to come together to share in their hobby. The PSWCS has participated in charitable events with Garrison Carida since 2003 and as their own organization since 2009. More information can be found on the http://www.pswcs.com/ website.
