Iron Man 3 Minimates Available Today

With Iron Man 3 decimating the box office, today makes the perfect launch day for Diamond Select’s new series of Iron Man 3 Minimates.  Available at Comic shops and Toys “R” Us, with exclusives for each, fans can not only collect several versions of Tony in the armor, but also mix and match pieces to create other armor versions that were seen in the film.

Not only is the armor interchangeable, but Iron Patriot will come with both James Rhodes and Savin heads and the Extremis Soldier has two hair styles.  Full press release and a photo gallery below.

The third Iron Man film is finally here, with a star-studded cast of characters and an array of awesome armors. But where can you find a toy line that will allow you to bring home all of the characters and armors in the movie? The Marvel Minimates line, naturally! And the first assortment hits comic shops May 8th!

If you’re looking to re-create the world of Iron Man 3, you can make 13 different characters and armors using the interchangeable two-inch mini-figure line. Comic shops will get Iron Man Mark 42 with The Mandarin, and Iron Patriot (with Rhodey and Savin heads) with an Extremis Soldier (with two hair styles), as well as two exclusive sets: War Machine with Maya Hansen and Cowboy Disguise Tony Stark with Aldrich Killian. Toys “R” Us will also get Iron Man/Mandarin, and Iron Patriot/Extremis Soldier, plus their own exclusive two-packs: Suit Up Tony Stark with Heartbreaker Armor and Bones Armor with Silver Centurion Armor.

Thundercats Ho Box SetBased on the animated TV-movie, ThunderCats Ho!, Art Asylum is releasing a new boxed set of characters which will include Bengali, Lynx-O, Pumyra and Tarar-O along with a Berbil.  The set will be available at comic and specialty stores through Previews.

Fan reaction to Icon Heroes’ line of Classic ThunderCats Minimates has been phenomenal, and Art Asylum has been putting everything they have into their designs for the two-inch mini-figure line. Now, they’ve put together a brand-new box set based on the TV-movie ThunderCats Ho!, and Icon Heroes is making this set more widely available than ever!

Featuring “new” ThunderCats Bengali, Lynx-O, Pumyra and Ratar-O, as well as a non-poseable minifigure of the Berbil named Ro-Bear Bert, this box set is available to all comic shops and specialty store retailers through Diamond Comic Distributors’ Previews catalog.  Now available for pre-order, the set will ship in the fall.

The three new ThunderCats in this set – blacksmith Bengali, healer Pumyra and wise, sightless Lynx-O – were introduced in the five-part 1985 movie “ThunderCats Ho!” as three Thunderans who came to Third Earth in the wake of Thundera’s destruction. Ro-Bear Bert was on of the two Berbils who saved the trio from the doomed planet, and Ratar-O was the Mutant commander who sought to capture them for the evil Mumm-Ra.

The Governor will be at the center of Series 4 of the Walking Dead Minimates this summer.  There will also be sets with Lori and Michonne.  Look for these at comic and specialty stores this summer.

The Walking Dead Series 4 Minimates

Fans of the Walking Dead TV show may not know how the prison storyline will end, but fans of the comic know that it will probably not end well! The fourth assortment of Walking Dead Minimates, based on the long-running comic book series by Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard, features one of the most hated villains in comic book history, the Governor, as well as some of his closest friends and worst enemies.

Walking Dead Minimates Series 4 re-unites the Governor and his lieutenants with some of the people who hated him the most. The Governor himself comes in a two-pack with his lieutenant Gabe, with whom he stormed the gates of the prison. Michonne, the woman who received the worst of the Governor’s brutality, comes with his accomplice Bruce, as well as a new poncho accessory. Rick’s wife Lori (with baby Judith) comes with a partially flayed Shoulder Zombie, and a variant of that set will replace Lori with the prison doctor and Woodbury defector, Alice.

Diamond Select C2E2 LogoDiamond Select Toys will be attending C2E2 in Chicago on the weekend of April 26 – 28th.  They’ll have a lot of their products on display and will be handing out some free swag.  Look for them at boot #603 and check out their panel on Saturday.  Full press release below.

At booth #603, DST will have all (well, most) of their upcoming products on display, so you can check them out in person before they reach the stores. They’ll also be giving away free posters, and selling selected items in the company store. Spend $18 and you can build your own Minimate at the Build-a-Minimate station! (Station open after 1:00 each day.)

Not too far away, at booth #1509, you can check out the Minimates Museum, an exhibit of Minimates past and present celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Marvel Minimates line. The exhibit will be open during show hours, so stop by, pick up a program and take a trip through mini-history, from Lord of the Rings to The Expendables, and everything in between!

And on Saturday, at 12:15 pm, in Room W470a, DST Marketing Supervisor Zach Oat will talk Minimates with anyone who will listen. He’ll unveil never-before-seen artwork, debut some never-before-seen product and answer some never-before-asked questions! Plus, he’ll give away a prize at the end to one lucky attendee!

Diamond Select will be releasing Series 3 of “The Walking Dead” Minimates this May, with some going to Toys-R-Us and others going to your local comic book store.  Today we have a look at 4 new 2-packs.

The Season 3 finale of “The Walking Dead” airs this weekend, and readers of the long-running Skybound comic book on which the show is based cannot wait to see how the Prison vs. Woodbury story arc will play out on the small screen. Coincidentally, Diamond Select Toys is busy prepping their third series of comic-based Walking Dead Minimates for release, and we thought we’d show off the final packaging for the Toys “R” Us assortment! Rick in Riot Gear with Guard Zombie, Dexter with Dreadlock Zombie, Glenn with Vest Zombie and Carol with Pole Zombie are all due out at Toys “R” Us and on toysrus.com in May. Around the same time, comic shops and specialty stores will get their own exclusive assortment, including Rick, Dexter, Hershel and Tyreese. Exclusive Minimates I.S.S. Enterprise

Diamond Select, via Entertainment Earth, will be offering an exclusive Minimates I.S.S. Enterprise.  The ship, from the classic “Star Trek” episode “Mirror, Mirror,” will include a Kirk Minimate figure, has opening cockpit and engineering sections and an adjustable display stand.

From the classic Star Trek episode “Mirror, Mirror,” it’s the I.S.S. Enterprise! In a mirror universe, Captain Kirk and his crew are bloodthirsty representatives of a cruel civilization. This exclusive version of the Minimate Enterprise includes the distinctive Terran Empire markings and comes with Kirk in his sleeveless gold tunic! The I.S.S. While The Wolverine may be the mysterious release from the Marvel Universe, Iron Man 3 is probably the most hotly anticipated.  Hasbro already has a lot of product on store shelves and Diamond Select will be adding to it, at Toys-R-Us and your local comic shop, with new Minimates releases.

The latest Iron Man 3 trailer has everyone talking about what kind of products we’ll see on toy store shelves as the movie’s release date approaches. And while they still need to keep some of their figures under wraps, Diamond Select Toys has unveiled two more Marvel Minimates based on the film!

The first, “Suit Up” Tony Stark, will be one of four Toys “R” Us-exclusive Minimates, and will come packaged with a mystery figure to be revealed later. He is shown wearing parts of the Mark 42 armor, which can be summoned and controlled via mental link in the film, as seen in the trailer. The boots and gauntlets will be removable, and Tony will also come with regular hands and shoes.

The second is an Extremis Soldier, who comes packaged with Iron Patriot and will be available at comic shops and specialty stores as well as at Toys “R” Us. These super-strong operatives are shown receiving the Extremis treatment in the trailer, and the Minimate will come with a removable vest, a pistol, and interchangeable hair pieces to create different looks.

The other Minimates that have been revealed are Iron Man Mark 42 with The Mandarin (shared between specialty and Toys “R” Us), the specialty-exclusive War Machine with Maya Hansen, and the specialty exclusive Cowboy Disguise Tony Stark with Aldrich Killian. Three Toys “R” Us figures remain unrevealed.

Minimates are 2-inch mini-figures, each with various interchangeable parts and accessories, and the Iron Man 3 assortments will be out in April. To pre-order the specialty assortment, contact your local comic shop or your favorite specialty toy retailer!

Marvel has three hotly anticipated movies coming this but The Wolverine may be the one we know the least about at this point.  But we do know that Diamond Select will be releasing a set of Minimates along with an incredible looking Marvel Selection action figure of Hugh Jackman as the title character.  With three heads and six hands, this looks to be an incredible release.  Photos and press release below.

The Avengers. X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The Amazing Spider-Man. The Marvel cinematic universe is constant source of great characters and costumes for the Minimates mini-figure and Marvel Select action figure lines from Diamond Select Toys. This year three films based in the Marvel Universe will make it into Select form, and while all three films are highly anticipated, one has been shrouded in secrecy, leaving fans to only guess at what toys the film might bring. But now DST has unveiled their newest Select figure, for 20th Century Fox’s The Wolverine, and announced an assortment of Minimates, as well!

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, The Wolverine finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.

While the movie-based line-up of Marvel Minimates Series 52 is still top-secret, we can say that the 7-inch action figure, sculpted by Gentle Giant, is due out this fall and depicts Wolverine in a look straight out of the film. The figure features 16 points of articulation as well as three interchangeable heads and six hands. The figure also comes with a sword and a detailed display base in display-ready Select packaging, with movie art on the shelf reference panel.

ThunderCats fans have been lapping up Icon Heroes’ new ThunderCats products like a kitten lapping up milk, and now the company has released a third set in their popular ThunderCats Minimates line. Produced in conjunction with Diamond Select Toys and Art Asylum, the Series 3 box set rounds out the main band of Thunderan refugees, with Minimates of Tigra, Cheetara, Wilykit and Wilykat, as well as a mini-figure of RoBear Bill.

Each Minimate stands 2 inches tall with 14 points of articulation, and comes with key character accessories. Tygra comes with his bolo, Cheetara with her staff, and the Thunderkittens with their smoke bombs, lassos and hoverboards. (Did we mention RoBear Bill?) Peter Pan Minimates Arrive at Disney Stores

To celebrate the Blu-ray release of Peter Pan, Disney stores are releasing Minimates action figures.  They have two box sets of figures and the Jolly Roger, which includes two exclusive figures.  Check out the press release and photos below and keep an eye on disneystore.com if you’re looking to order online.

With the recent release of Peter Pan on Blu-ray, fans of all ages have had the chance to experience the classic animated film for the first time. And now they can act out the adventures they saw in the film using Minimates mini-figures! Two box sets and one vehicle featuring 2-inch Minimates of the famous Peter Pan characters have hit the Disney Store, and they are packed with playability!

The first set includes Cubby, Tootles, Nibs and Peter Pan, who comes with a removable dagger, a flight base, and a tiny hovering Tinkerbell. The second set has Captain Hook (with a removable sword and scabbard), John Darling (with his trademark umbrella), Michael Darling and a 2-inch Tinkerbell figure with her own flight base.
