Beckett is reporting that Topps will release a followup to last year’s Galactic File set. This July, a 350 base card set will debut with new chase cards, sketches and autographs, including the first dual autograph cards.
Other chase cards include printing plates, Blue, Red and Gold parallels (numbered 350, 35 & 10 respectively), Medallions and five themed subsets making a total of 407 cards for a complete run. On the plus side, each box will have two hits; a Sketch card and either a Medallion, Autograph, Dual Autograph or a Printing Plate.
Hobby boxes will run $120.
Head over to Beckett to see a few teaser images and their breakdown on the set details.
Topps has sent out emails letting us know that today is the first day to order their exclusive Star Wars Galactic Files Deluxe Printing Plate sets. If you recall, we posted about these sets during our New York Comic Con coverage.
Each deluxe set includes 24 exclusive Galactic Files cards and one set of four printing plates that were used to create one of the 350 base cards from the recent Galactic Files release. Each set comes in a faux leather case, is numbered and is priced at $499.95. You won’t be able to pick which card you’ll received the printing plates for, it will be random.
The deluxe sets will go on sale starting at 12:00 PM (noon) today. Follow this link to the ShopTopps.com online store to place your order.
Since I left off with the big Topps announcement from New York Comic Con, why not start our coverage with the rest of what they were showing off in their booth.
First up, a look at a couple of the color plates that Topps will be including in their upcoming Galactic Files Deluxe Print Plate Box-Set along with the 24 exclusive Galactic Files cards that can only be found in these sets.
Also shown in the booth was an old box of vintage wax packs and original artwork that was used for the backgrounds of the stickers in the vintage Topps cards. The original artwork is currently on eBay and the bidding has been going pretty hard, a couple of them were over $100 as of the writing. Head over to the TopsVault eBay store for links to the auctions.
We covered the details of the Deluxe Print Plate set in a previous post so make sure to check that out.
Topps announced a new exclusive to ShopTopps.com; Star Wars Galactic Files Deluxe Print Plate Box-Set.
The set, estimated to run about $499, will include a set of four printing plates from one of the Star Wars Galactic Files along with 24 exclusive Galactic Files character cards. The set will ship in a faux leather case.
According to the sell sheet, pictured, these will ship later in November.
I forgot to ask if your purchase will be for a random set of the printing plates, but I’m assuming that it will be random. I’ll ask tomorrow when I go back to photograph the exclusive cards that will be in the set.
We confirmed with Topps that the Deluxe Print Plate sets will be random, you’ll order and receive one of the 350 sets. The price is $499, that’s not an estimate, and there will be a binder available for the set. Look for the binder later this month or in November.
Topps, through a sales listing in Previews, has announced their next Star Wars card set which will be titled Galactic Files.

While the set is celebrating the 35th anniversary of the release of Star Wars, all six Saga films, The Clone Wars and the Expanded Universe will be represented. Hobby boxes will have 24 packs of 12 cards each. Boxes have an MSRP of $100 and single packs will be about $4.20. Preorders are now available through Previews and the set has an estimated release of September.
